June 13, 2014;

Since the last post I made about deleting Facebook I haven't been on there but maybe once or twice and during that time I only skimmed for about three minutes and then left.  I didn't realize that it really was going to be that easy to get away from Facebook and have absolutely no problem at all.

Also Sara and I finished all of season two of Orange is the New Black.  I won't spoil anything because I have no idea who actually looks at this blog and I don't want to spoil anything for anyone who is watching, but I do have to say that I was very surprised about the end of the season and I really enjoyed it.  Now we are watching season four of Pretty Little Liars. Every time we are both home we are continuing to watch this show.  We have made it through ten episodes in two days.  I guess that means you could say we have been binge watching like crazy.

Today is my last day off and have to work for the next four days at least.  I will have to see what the schedule looks like whenever I work and its up.

Anyway has been a relaxing day.  Sara and I woke up and we decided that we were going to mow the yard.  Well, when our mower decided that it wasn't going to be a real mower and would stop basically every other pass we gave up.  There wasn't anything even caught in the blades the damn thing just wanted to quit every two minutes so we have one little area in the back mowed and the rest still looks like a disaster.  We have to get someone to mow it hopefully soon.

After that happened we went and got a powerade and diet Coke and then just took a little scenic drive out in the country down a couple of roads.  When we got back we did dishes, we ate lunch which was the end of our leftover balsamic roast beef sandwiches and we watched two or three more episodes of Pretty Little Liars before she had to get ready and so did I.  Her and Donald went to a rehearsal dinner that they are playing at the wedding for tomorrow and I was going to see a movie.

Around 3:00 or a little earlier I ran to Casey's got some peach rings to sneak into the movie theater (because I am an awful person who wanted peach rings and they don't have them and even if they did they would have cost a crap ton of money), then I drove to Moberly to meet Susan and some others to see The Fault In Our Stars at 4:15.  I have to say that that movie was one of the best movies that was originally from a book.  Also the fact that the movie cost way less than most movies to to make and it beat out so many other movies grossing at the box office last weekend is pretty incredible.  I am so amazed by it that if I had the chance I would definitely go and see it again and even spend the money to do so.  I cried for about half of it and had mascara and eyeliner wiped all over my face by the time it was all over but it was 100% worth it and I am so glad that I was able to go.

I got home and ate some mashed potatoes, did the biggest loser work out on the Wii and then took a shower.  I am now just sitting on the floor watching Everybody Loves Raymond and typing up this blog post while I wait for Sara to get home.  I work at 3:30 tomorrow and it will probably end up being a long day because it is supposed to be nice outside and I work for seven hours alone.

I guess that we will see.  Anyway, I am going to spend the rest of my night just relaxing, watching Netflix and browsing around on Tumblr so I will leave you with my final quote as I usually do.

June 9, 2014;

This blog post will be all about some of the reasons that I have decided that I am going to delete my Facebook for good.  This is something that I actually never have really thought about until the last couple of days.  Recently my best friend has decided that he is deleting his Facebook and he made a video about the reasons that he was planning on deleting his.  Some of these reasons made me realize that I have to agree with him.

I'll just start this list:
  •   It takes up so much of my time.
    • He mentioned how every single time he opens an internet browser he goes straight to Facebook, and then he'll think of something to do and then open a browser and will go BACK to Facebook and forget what he was doing.
      • I agree with this 100% seriously.  I mean I have my homepage on my internet browser SET to Facebook.  I don't even know why, but I can't open a new browser without feeling the need to look at what is happening even if it is just something that I have already seen or something that is going to make me annoyed, which leads me to reason number two.
  • Most posts don't even interest me.
    • Way too often I see things that are on my Facebook that I am just like, I DON'T CARE! I really either just get annoyed or just scroll right past. Yeah, sometimes I see things like OH SOMEONE GOT ENGAGED or SOMEONE IS HAVING A BABY! Yeah, those things are really exciting, but I feel like if I am close enough with the people I am going to know those things anyway.
    • Facebook just causes drama sometimes that I really don't enjoy seeing.  I don't care who is in a fight with who or enjoy seeing people calling others bad names just because they are mad at someone who more than likely the next day they are going to be showing love and affection toward.  I am sick of that.
  •  I talk to most people outside of Facebook anyway.
    • I have family on Facebook, but I learn more things through my mom who I call or text all of the time or from my dad quite often.  I mean yeah there are some things that I can learn from Facebook that I might not learn for a couple days later, but still.
    • All of the friends that I have and REALLY care about most of them I talk to outside of Facebook as well. I mean yeah, there are a few people who I don't talk to anywhere else, but I am planning on making it so that I can keep in contact with them outside of Facebook after I delete my account.
  • Privacy settings are getting a little ridiculous.
    • Now this is a subject I don't really know how to discuss, but I do know that some of the things just aren't the same.  You have to go through so many more steps just to hide things from other people, and it really shouldn't be.  Nothing online is secret anymore and I really thing that is not acceptable and Facebook is just getting worse and worse.
So, for now I will still continue to have my Facebook at least for the next month.  The only reason that I am keeping it for that long is because I want to make sure that I have all of the contact information for the people that I want to have.

After it is gone though I will still have other means of contact and other places that I am online.

This is something that I believe is going to be the best for me both in the short and long run.  I think that in no time I am going to feel like something has been lifted off of my shoulders and it will all just end up being the best choice that I made.  I might miss a few things, but I doubt it.

June 4, 2014;

Last night was the worst nights sleep that I have had in such a long time.  We were having some bad storms and I woke up twice because of that.  The first time was because my stupid phone has alerts that usually don't go off well last night mine decided to go off not for a storm warning or anything but instead a stupid flood warning like seriously? That was at 3:30 took about ten minutes to go back to sleep.  The second time was at 4:30 because there was a crack of lightning so loud that I feel like it could have woken the dead! I almost fell out of my bed it was so loud and scared me.  It woke both Sara and I both up and so we got up and went to the living room and waited until it died down a little while we watched TV.  I also woke up at 5:20 because of a bad dream, but I went back to sleep pretty quickly after that.

The rest of this day has been pretty useless.  All I really have done today was lay around on the couch and watch Lie To Me, talk to some people, and read on my computer.  I am trying to finish this book that I'm reading by the 10th because I am reading it as a part of a book club for Nerdfighteria.  I actually really am enjoying it even though it is non-fiction and non-fiction is something that hasn't ever interested me even when I was younger.  The only things I liked to read non-fiction were things about animals and sometimes those books or articles bored me. I have never unless required read a non-fiction that was over 200 pages long.  Behind the Beautiful Forevers by Katherine Boo though is something completely different.  It makes me think about how things could be so much worse and you get an insight into other peoples lives and how much they struggle during some situations but also find little joys in some small things that other people would just take for granite like clean water.  It is just an astonishing book and I would actually suggest it to other people, which like I said is something I never would have used to do with a non-fiction book ever in my entire life until right now!

I had a sandwich for lunch and then some spaghetti with olive oil and spices for dinner.  I have talked on the phone with both my boyfriend and my mom.  I also ran to Casey's just so I could buy myself some apple juice because it sounded really really good! Now again I am just laying on the couch watching Lie to Me, Sara will be home soon, and in a little bit I will probably read some more of my book so that I can finish it since I have about 100 pages left still and then I will talk to my boyfriend a little bit on either Skype of the phone again.  I really don't have that exciting of a life.  Though one reason I didn't do anything tonight was because I thought that I might have to go to work for an hour but I ended up not having too which I really don't mind.

June 2, 2014;

I cannot believe that I haven't wrote on here for half a month.  I really don't even know everything that has happened since then to be 100% honest.  I know that I have seen my boyfriend another time and during that time over Memorial weekend we went to paint at the Mud Room (which I get to go pick up our items this week and I am so excited to see them) and we also went to see the movie Neighbors which was really really funny.

I also know that I have been working basically the maximum hours that I can at work most weeks and I am busy with that most of the time as long as just doing things around the house.  I know that I am missing so many things that have happened and I really hope nothing else is really exciting that I am missing.

Last night Sara and I went to a 10:15 showing of A Million Ways to Die in the West, I have to say that it was actually pretty funny.  I am not surprised from what I saw on the the trailer that I watched earlier that day.  We also grabbed some frozen yogurt which is like the third time that I have had any in the last month and a half which is kind of ridiculous but it is really the truth.

Wow, this is a really lame post. I don't know how many people really do read these but I hope that I will start doing a better job.  It's just that I don't really get on my computer, I check everything on my phone, anymore and so I never really think about posting a blog post.  I will do a little better soon I hope.  The only reason I really thought to type tonight was because I was posting two things on my food blog.

I don't have anything else to say today besides the fact that I saw Danielle today which was nice.  I will finish tonight out watching the rest of Burlesque and then get some sleep because I work tomorrow at ten in the morning tomorrow. So as usual, I will finish this post out with a quote as usual.

May 18, 2014;

Warning: This post is going probably turn out being super sappy and all up in the feelings, but I don't even care! Just thought I would warn everyone.

This picture was taken two years ago today.

Two years ago I graduated high school.  I was dead set determined that I knew what I was going to do with my life.  I was going to get married less than a month later, work for two years and then go back to school for myself to become an elementary teacher.

Things on that path have definitely changed.  While some followed through a lot of them did change in ways that two years ago I never would have expected them to. Today I sat in the bleachers of Paris R-II High School again, this time as an onlooker of the graduation of my best friend.  She has been there for me through everything and I don't know what I would do without her.

Danielle is the best friend that I gained and kept through high school.  She has been the one who has seen me through the hard times of everything from divorce to my first test and finals that I experienced my freshman year of college and I have seen her through some things as well.

At this time in my life I have changed my path.  I just finished my freshman year of college.  As planned I started out as an education major to become an elementary teacher only to change my mind along the way through the first semester and realize that I truly wanted to go into psychology and be a counselor.  I met Brendan in the process of this second semester and don't know what I would do without him.  One thing I do know is that I wouldn't have passed Art History with a 99% if it hadn't been for him pushing me to study and us studying together for those tests that set us so high up in the class from the very beginning.

Another thing that I have learned from the past two years is not to be afraid of change.  You can't change things that happen to you and you can't make them go the way you planned all of the time.  It really just doesn't work that way.  You just have to let things go the way that they are set out for you and follow those plans as they come along.  Sometimes things aren't at all the way they seemed to be in the beginning and those change you, but they can change you for the better. In the end it all works out for you and you find new experiences that you never would have known about it your original plans panned out.

So once again, I want to say congratulations to Danielle, the gorgeous best friend that I could ask for and a sister that I never had as well as congratulations to all of the other graduates of 2014, be it pre-schoolers, high schoolers, or college graduates! You all are set out to do great things and if you put your mind to it, it will happen!

May 13, 2014;

Since I last posted in here a few things have happened, including:
  • Finishing my freshman year of college
  • Moving out of the dorms and in with my best friend
  • Sleeping on Sara's couch until her other roommate moved out
  • Getting all of my stuff moved in after she left last Sunday
  • Having yet to finish putting everything away
  • Finished my boyfriend's birthday present - who I would also like to mention is now a little over two hours away from me, and I miss him
  • And learning that I got all A's and B's in my classes for the semester
 It has been a little bit crazy the last few days with all of those things happening, but it is nice to finally be living with my best friend, we already made our first dinner as roomies! It is going to be a good summer as well as a good year next year I can already feel it.

Another thing that is happening is that I am getting more hours at work since it is summer. It is nice to be raised back up to the maximum number of hours that I am aloud to have again.  I do wish though I could have more, but because of all the new things I am not allowed which is stupid because I wouldn't even take the insurance offer that they give me since I am still on my step-dad's insurance from his work, but whatever it's fine I guess.

So that is what my summer is going to consist of working, spending time with Sara, seeing Brendan whenever possible even though I don't know how often that will be, and sleeping.  I mean I am sure that there are going to be other exciting things for me to talk about, but right now that is currently what I know is going to happen this summer besides a couple of concerts (Panic! At The Disco and Warped). It's going to be a good summer.

 Today was just a really long day. I didn't really do much besides sleep and work, but I worked for 8.79 hours today and it completely wore me out. I have pains in my legs and feet from being on my feet for a good amount of time.  I will survive though, I only work four hours tomorrow so I guess that counteracts it. Anyway, here is a quote:

May 5, 2014;

I know it has been too long since I last typed up a blog post.  My apologies but for the last few weeks it seems that all I have been is busy. My group in Psychology finished our experiment and presentation and everything, my group in religion finished our project and presented, I have had papers and work and everything has just been really kind of crazy.

This week is finals week.  This morning I had my statistics final at 7:30 in the morning.  I finished it feeling really really good about.  My feeling was actually right.  At dinner I was looking at my grades and saw that my grade had gone up to an 80%.  I already the night before had calculated that I needed and 86% to get a B with my homework included so I figured that was what I got.  NO! I looked at it just to see and found that I actually ended up with a 97% on my final test that I took this morning! I don't know how I did it because it meant that I missed one question! I was in complete amazement and I am so excited!

After the statistics final though I had my religion one at 10:30 and then my psychology one at 1:30.  Neither of those were that bad. After that I ran to the bank and then to Dollar General.  After that Brendan came over so we could study for Art History.  We actually ended up taking a nap for about an hour and a half because I was exhausted from getting up early and then we studied after that and went to dinner and then came back again to study some more.  We are also getting up a little after 9:30 and studying more before the final at 1:30.

Then after that I only have one final left and I am done by 12:30 or earlier on Wednesday and I start moving everything into my best friend's house which will soon be my house as well! I cannot wait to do that.  We spend enough time together, it is going to be awesome to live together! We already have planned that we are going to have an ugly sweater party right after I move in and just are going to crank up the air and we both already bought our sweaters.  Also, we plan to have a Christmas one later! It is going to be pretty great!

I am going to try to do way better this month than I did last month. Especially since I will only be worrying about work and not school over the summer. It will be better.

Here is a good quote for the end of the semester:
