First thing I have to say is that yesterday was the absolute best night of my life I am pretty sure. I don't think that I have ever been to a concert as good as the Panic! At The Disco concert was. I honestly think that I had the best time other than being slightly annoyed with a couple of people, but they weren't worth it for as amazing as the show was.
I had class until four on Wednesday and then CJ and I basically got out of there as quickly as we could. We stopped in Wentzville and grabbed some McDonalds before we got to the city so that we wouldn't be hungry while we were at the concert, which is always a good choice because having a stomach growling at a concert even is hard to not focus on... Learned the hard way.
Anyway, there were two bands that opened for Panic! At The Disco and both were good. CJ and I both really took a liking to X Ambassadors though. They are absolutely amazing, and we couldn't help but both be excited about the fact that their lead singer plays saxophone on stage for some of their songs. I actually have had Love Songs, Drug Songs stuck in my head since I woke up this morning if I want to be absolutely honest.
Then The Colourist was good, but they weren't my ABSOLUTE favorite, but they were good. Their drummer was adorable she had such a tiny voice.
Then came Panic! I don't even know how to contain the joy that I had seeing them. I actually really just would love to type this whole post in all caps because it might show my excitement a little bit better. While I can not tell you the whole order of songs I do know that they started with Vegas Lights, which is a fun song to sing. I sang every single song when they were playing, and if I counted right there were twenty-two of their songs that they played.
There were four parts of the show that I remember distinctively that weren't really even the show just Brendon's commentary in the songs and him talking. The first one was when he was singing New Perspective after the line "Can we fast forward til you go down on me?" the first time everyone screamed after that so the second time before they could scream he added "Ahh you nasty!" and I couldn't help but laugh. The second was when he was just talking about the tour and everything and he was saying that he was sick and had a fever and the tour might just kill him, which caused everyone to yell "NOOOOOO!" and also he changed the name to the Too Sick To Live, It Might Just Kill Me tour. He said it would at least be a good way to go with us in St. Louis. Also, while they may say this to every single venue just because it is what happens, he said that St. Louis very possibly was the best show they had done so far. Like I said, may say it to everyone, but I don't care made me feel good. Third thing was when they came back after everyone was chanting for them to come back, and when they came back Brendon didn't have his shirt on... WHOO! Anyway, they were singing Girls/Girls/Boys which is my absolute favorite off of Too Weird To Live, Too Rare To Die. And after the line, "'Cause I don't wanna save your reputation," he added... "I JUST WANT TO GET YOU NAKED!" More screaming commenced... of course! (:
Also on the note of Brendon Urie with no shirt on... I was determined that at some point in the show he better not have that thing on anymore because every other concert I had seen photos from in like the last month he has not had a shirt on at some point so it better have happened. We were talking about how it should happen, and I said he could just come on with no shirt at all and I would be okay with that, and CJ goes but it would be sexy if he took it off on stage, and I was yeah that's true especially if he pulls it over his head, and she goes or like tears it off... I answered with "I can see his wife Sarah now... "BRENDON STOP DESTROYING YOUR SHIRTS!" It was just fabulous.
Anyway, after the show we got back in to get some concert merch. CJ bought the X Ambassadors CD which at least two of them signed, and I am going to have to borrow at some point because I am obsessed now with them. We also both got Panic! shirts, hers is just a regular shirt and mine is the actual tour shirt. I wore it today actually. Then we took a picture with two of the guys from The Colourist.
We finally left around eleven something after grabbing a drink at a gas station. We got back to Fayette around 1:20 or so, probably back to our rooms by 1:30 and then I couldn't fall asleep for almost another hour, but finally did.
I had class at 8:30 this morning so I really only got around five hours of sleep, but oh well, I was doing pretty good being awake. Then came my second class which was Art History at one. The problem was I planned to take a nap between classes and just skip lunch, instead I uploaded photos to my 365 project so I didn't nap. I ended up dozing off for like five to ten minutes in class. I don't even know what happened.
I talked with Brendan walking back from class about going to the art exhibit on Sunday for extra credit and also a little bit about the concert. We both walk really fast so we don't get much conversation in before I go back into Holt, but we talk every Tuesday and Thursday, only time except when he comes into Subway - which he also did tonight, but whatever.
I did nap for like thirty minutes before work and then finished my 365 photos that I was so behind on. Work wasn't really all to busy today, I had to bake breads later for them for in the morning. Then I came back to my dorm after I got off of work and showered and started uploading photos from the concert to my Facebook, and then I started this post about an hour ago, but kept getting distracted. Finally though I am close to done. A couple more photos and a quote and I'll be done for tonight.
"The hype is pretty good. So it's a good sign. There's different kinds of hype for different reasons. Hype is good. The crowd just has more expectations from us when we're on stage. That's cool, too. I hope we haven't been too disappointing. We try." - Brendon Urie: This was way back when, but still...
Just so you know Brendon even though you will never read this ever... You were far from disappointing. <3
