I have to say that last week was a rough week up until Thursday. Then Thursday at about 2:15 made everything better again. That was when I got to pack up a bag that was for until this morning so I could go to Brendan's house and get to meet his family!
Since I had to work the weekend I had to follow Brendan in my own car because he had an interview for a summer job today. We talked the whole way there and I was alright with driving until we got on 40 and then traffic started getting worse and it made me a little bit nervous. I guess I really didn't realize it until we got to his house and I got out. I realized that I really needed a hug and that my fingers were so stiff from gripping my steering wheel so tightly. I was okay though after I got a hug and flexed my fingers a little. Then I got to meet the doggies! They seemed quite excited to see people and also the fact of getting to see someone who they didn't know at all, that probably made them even more excited!
Pretty soon after we got back Brendan's mom and grandma got there from work and we headed to dinner. They took me to a place called Farotto's and I have to say that it was some of the best Italian food that I have ever had in my own. One way to tell that is because I never ever eat leftovers from a restaurant because I just don't. That was not the case here, I actually had them for dinner when I got home from work today. I had a red pesto cheese tortellini, and it was absolutely amazing! Then they also ordered an appetizer sampler and I think that I had some of the best cheesy garlic bread and AMAZING fried cheese sticks. Mmm...
The rest of that night really just consisted of a little bit of Dexter and sleeping.
Then Friday we had to take Brendan's car to get the oil change, then we went back to his house and ate breakfast. I had Honey Nut Cheerios with blueberries and strawberries (that Brendan's mom bought me!) and orange juice. After that we just hung around and then went back to get his car and then... wait for it! My amazing boyfriend took me to The Butterfly House!
I have wanted to go to The Butterfly House for about four years and in that period of time I never have been able to do so, because no one would ever take me or had the time or just wouldn't take me because they were dumb. Anyway though, he took me, and I was so excited! We got inside and there were so many different butterflies. They were literally everywhere! So many of them flying around and some of them never landing at least not in places that I could get pictures, I did get some of them though. So pretty.
After we left there though we headed over to his dad's house before we headed to his grandparent's and great-grandma's house. Though while Brendan and his dad were loading up the truck with fire wood and tables and chairs, his little half-brother Gus was telling me about the dogs and house and where to go with a tornado. He was talking to me and at the same time seemed a little bit shy. We stopped and grabbed something small at Taco Bell too before we got over there because no one had eaten anything yet. It's really funny, when Brendan went to meet my dad we had Taco Bell for lunch and then I go and meet his and he buys us Taco Bell too. Probably because one of the only fast food places both of us even enjoy is that, so it makes a good amount of sense, but still.
Anyway, after that and getting over to his grandparents and great-grandma's house is when I started meeting everyone in his family. I have to say that they all made me feel right at home and that I was so glad to be able to meet them all. Of course I was slightly nervous to begin with, but definitely I was able to just talk to people about both myself and just in general and it made it even more enjoyable because I wasn't attached at the hip with Brendan and I was getting along great with his family (or at least it felt like I was, so I really am hoping that they liked me too!) I just think that it was amazing how welcome they all made me feel.
In this time I almost won their family tradition game. It ended up being me against Brendan's step-mom Kelly. I am not sure how he would have felt about it if I had won, but I didn't. Anyway, I just felt like I was at home and they made me feel comfortable and not at all awkward around them which was really nice.
We headed back to his other grandma's house after that and stayed up a little while before going to bed because I had to get up at seven this morning to get everything picked back up and head back to Fayette because I had to work at 11 this morning which was annoying. We were really busy until after Corey left and then we slowed down until Sean got there and then we picked back up for like an hour and then it died off again and I left at like 5:22.
After I got off work I actually went on an almost two mile walk around town, then started laundry, and showered and then had dinner. I am trying to do better about eating more healthy and also attempting to eat three meals a day and exercise more. I plan to do a better job of that this summer for sure, I want to look better and even more so feel better when it comes to things so I think that I finally am determined to do a better job of taking care of myself.
Right now I am talking to Brendan before I go to bed because I have to be at work by 8:15 tomorrow morning until 1:30, then I am going home for the night probably. I may be back tomorrow night I just haven't decided yet. I guess that we will see, I need to get to bed, tomorrow is going to be another long day that is definitely for sure. I have just had a busy busy weekend and next week is going to be really busy too! School is over pretty soon, that's crazy to think about.
